Dr. Berner has practiced medicine for the past 35 years in the specialty of Anesthesia and the last 28 years in the subspecialty of CardioVascular Anesthesia. He practiced with the Fogarty group at Stanford from 1971 until 1978 at which time the group moved their practice to Sequoia Hospital. Previously, Dr. Berner also spent 3 years at the Palo Alto Medical Clinic, 2 years with the U.S. Army and 2 years as Chief of Anesthesia at the Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara. In addition to his medical work, he has been an active investor in medical device start-up companies, including Vidamed and Ventritex. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1957 with a BA and from the Chicago Medical School in 1961. Dr. Berner completed his internship and Anesthesiology residency in 1964 at the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and co-authored "Spinal Anesthesia in Lumbar Laminectomy." He is married with 3 adult children and one grandson.

Dr. Nichols is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the practice of sports medicine with special expertise in arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction. He has many years of practical experience with orthopedic medical devices and instrumentation, including his work with Synthes Medical in designing and developing a hip plate for childhood hip disorders. He has been associated with numerous sports teams including Stanford University football and basketball, and San Francisco Giants baseball. Previously, Dr. Nichols was an assistant clinical professor at Stanford Medical School and head of the orthopedic division of the spinal cord injury unit at Santa Clara Valley Medical center. He received his undergraduate degree at Stanford University in l971, and his M.D. degree from the University of California, Davis l976. He completed his internship and residency at Stanford University Medical Center in l981. He has three daughters and lives in Santa Cruz, California.

Mr. Logan is a co-founder of DataCore Software, a start-up focused on the emerging Storage Area Network market. Investors in DataCore Software include: Intel, Van Wagoner Capital Management, Bank of America Securities, Dain Rauscher Wesseis, Net Angels LLP (A consortium of private investors including current and former executives of Ascend Communications, AT&T, Silicon Graphics, NET, Cisco, and others); New Enterprise Associates ; One Liberty Ventures Frank Quattrone, CS First Boston; Stan Merisman, former CFO of SGI; Tom McMurray, Sequoia Ventures; Richard Bodman, AT&T Ventures; and Audrey MacClean. Mr. Logan has held senior management positions in engineering, marketing and sales at Amdahl, Memorex, Basic Four/MAI, and Encore Computer. Mr. Logan is a graduate of Stanford University (Russian and Eastern European History with high honors) and was a systems designer for Stanford University from 1970 through 1977. Mr. Logan is an expert in communications systems design, database design, and storage controller systems. Mr. Logan is an accomplished writer and his most recent article published by the West Publishing (a legal publishing firm) was entitled “Electronic Discovery in a Paperless World”. Mr. Logan is married to an Intellectual Property Lawyer and lives in Woodside California.
